Lite beer seafood display neon sign

Miller Lite Beer© Seafood Display Neon Sign - SOLD $279.00!

  • Model #: OAB560.
  • Production date: September 1994.
  • Condition: Excellent. Used and very clean.
  • Colors: 4 colors total. The word 'LITE' glows in a brilliant light blue. The fish outline lights in a mellow pink. There are nice green accents above and below the fish outline. Finally, soft white illuminated semi-circles are on the top and bottom. I think that is to represent the fish is laying on a plate.
  • Block-out paint: Black, nice and solid, however there is some slight cracking on the green accent tube.
  • Measured sizes: 30 inches wide with a height of 22 inches.
  • Repairs: None.

  • Transformer Input: 120 Volts, 60 Hertz, 225 Volt-Amps.
  • Transformer output: 7,500 volts, 30 Milli-Amps.
  • Comments:  This sign is a very rare one.   I bought this sign still new in the box in 1999.   It was 5 years old at that time, and never before displayed.   I displayed it for 3 years in my fish room.   Of that 3 years time, I think it has a whole 4 or 5 days' worth of actual "on-time".   I never even unloosened the cord from the factory style of wrapping because the outlet was right at the sign's hanging spot.   When I shut down the fish room years ago I took the sign down and I put this sign back into it's original carton and stored it in my neon attic undisplayed.   This sign is completely original including carton, complete with the hanging materials.

A 'MATT'S' NEON SIGN ILLUMINATED

Matt's Neon Sign

  • Model #: Not marked.
  • Manufacturer: Not marked.
  • Production date: 03/1979
  • Colors: 2 colors total. The word 'Matt's' glows in a soft white.   The bordering ribbon-like tube is clear and glows brilliant reddish-orange.
  • Measured sizes: 30.5 inches wide with a height of 13.75 inches.
  • Mounts: Flat surface or window display.
  • Repairs: I had the ribbon border tube repaired, it's electrodes replaced and new neon gas.
  • Transformer: Franceformer 7520 F  Secondary Mid-Point Grounded
  • Transformer Input: 120 Volts, 60 Hertz, 165 volt-amps.
  • Transformer output: 7,500 Volts, 20 Milli-Amps
  • Comments: This sign has the appearance of being found in a barn.   Why?  Well, it was an eBay item back around 1999, described as being found in an old barn with a photo and all!   The sign didn't light because the border tube had a break in it.   I have no idea why, but I bid and won.   I've been told "Matt's" was/is a small brewery in Utica New York.   After owning this old sign with the broken tube for 7 or 8 years, I finally spent the $$ on getting the broken tube repaired.   I still need to measure up this sign and check on the transformer make and what-not.   Sure is nice now that it works!   The two top window bumpers are missing.

  • Transformer Input: 120 Volts, 60 Hertz, 180 Volt-Amps
  • Transformer output: 6,000 Volts, 30 Milli-Amps
  • Comments:  This neon has a very stunning appearance when lit due to the choice of colors used.   I bought this neon sign from one of my old watering holes when it closed.   I had always admired it, so when the opportunity arose to purchase it I did along with 3 others.   The bar owner sprayed some flat primer over the tubes to tone down the intensity of this sign.   I have not tried to change that.
  • Note: Around 2003, I sold a neon just like this new in the original carton for $160.00 on eBay©!

The top mountain tube and bottom LIGHT tubes both light up in a soft white.   The BUSCH tube glows in a mellow blue.   The accent tube on either side of the bottom tube glows in a brilliant pure neon orange.   The picture makes some of the colors look washed-out, but they are not.

  • Transformer output: 7,500 Volts (7.5KV), 20 Milli-Amps (20mA).
  • Comments:  This sign had the center tube broken as the old picture above shows.   This neon sat in the neon attic for years after purchase.   Originally, the Genesee tube had red backing paint before the gray paint was applied.   It had a neat look to in that way, because the clear tube looked red when unlit.   Personally, I had never seen a tube painted in such a manner until I got this sign.   Then in 2009, I removed the broken Genesee tube and gave it to my neon guy with several other tubes.   So he fixed the tube, put on new electrodes and re-charged it.   When my neon guy did the repair, he had to re-bombard the tube.   The backing paint got bubbly and the red discolored.   At his shop, they don't carry red block-out paint as it is next to never used on much of anything.   I installed the repaired tube March 2010 and red backing paint or not, this sign lights up perfectly and looks good when lit now.

  • Model #: Not marked.
  • Production date: 2006.
  • Condition: New in box and damaged.
  • Colors: 6 colors total. The word Corona glows in a deep rich blue. There is a teal, a yellow and a red fish amongst light blue waves of water. The is a palm with red trunk and green looping leaves. A golden sun brightens the upper corner.

  • Transformer Input: 120 Volts, 60 Hertz, .7 Amp.
  • Transformer output: 6,000 Volts, 30 Milli-Amps.
  • Comments:  Nice sign!   But not the nicest job on the blackout paint.   Doesn't matter when lit up.   Takes a good 45 minutes for this neon sign to warm up to full brightness.   That's not a problem, it's a common condition with multi-colored signs.   I really like the two different shades of blue.   The teal and green are nice offsetting shades too.   This sign unfortunately no longer looks this good.   It was at my shop, as I had a offer of $250.00 for it.   A prybar slid over and crashed through the packing carton.   The Corona tube broke, as did the palm leaves and the sun.   I had already replaced the palm leaves when I bought it! :(
